Wedding Bands and Stones

As you search for wedding rings, you might find it difficult to choose the metal for the band and a stone for the adornment. For the band, there is platinum, gold, silver or titanium. The stud may be a diamond, sapphire, emerald, ruby or another precious gem. The important thing here is to know what you want in the case of aesthetics, and to know what you can afford.

Gold is one of the most popular wedding ring choices. The most preferable karat weight would be 14k and 18k. At its pure state of 24k, gold would be too soft; at an affordable 8k, it will not look too elegant. Gold is mixed with other alloys to make it more durable and to add colour. So, you can choose among white gold, yellow gold and rose gold.

Silver is the next most popular metal for a wedding band. This is because silver is much more affordable than gold. It is also very durable, which means that you can wear it often. It also has the advantage of being very fashionable. Silver jewellery can match various outfits and jewellery pieces.

Platinum is more expensive than gold, but it does last a lifetime. It has a beautiful, whitish, silvery gleam. Titanium is also very durable. However, it differs from platinum in its price and colour. Titanium is one of the most affordable wedding band metals. It has a darkish tint that can also look sophisticated and formal. Note, though, that it is very difficult to resize.

When it comes to choosing a stone for your wedding ring, there are plenty of choices out there. Diamonds are wedding favourites. They are elegant yet simple. They also look fantastic with any wedding band metal. Other choices are rubies, sapphires, emeralds and other precious gemstones.
