The first step in finding a place to stay would be to determine where exactly in Cebu you want to live. If you want to stay within Cebu City, you might want to choose the areas of Guadalupe, Lahug, Banilad, Mabolo and Capitol, which are all near the city centre and are popular places for property developers. You can also choose the cities of Talisay, Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu. Other places are farther from Cebu City, but some couples prefer those places for their peacefulness and for their lower property rates.

Whatever area you choose, be sure that your future children will not have any difficulty in accessing their schools from your home. Also find a place that is not too far from major highways or main roads. It should ideally be within a reasonable distance from a local market, grocery store and hospital. Still, be sure that you have a measure of privacy and order. As much as possible, one should choose a property that is located in a safe area and is not densely occupied.

Condominium units, stand-alone houses and townhouses are popular choices for a home. Most of these have clubhouses, swimming pools and jogging paths. To get a better deal, find off-plan properties. These are properties that are still under construction; thus, they are sold at much lower prices and come with favourable, low-interest financing schemes. It is important to choose a trusted property developer. In the meantime, you can stay in an apartment.
